Set up your CRA My Business account
My Business Account
To set up your business CRA account, you will have to complete two steps.
Step 1 - Go to the CRA website
To register for an account, go to My Business Account, scroll down to "Option 2 - Using a CRA user ID and password" and click the link "CRA Register."
Step 2 - Start the registration application
Have a copy of your corporate tax and personal tax returns handy. They will ask for information from these returns, such as entering the amount on Line 400. The line amount requested will vary. It could be from the current tax year or the previous one.
Step 3 - Wait for a CRA security code to be mailed to you
This typically takes 10 business days; please make sure they have your current address on file.
Step 4 - Sign into your CRA My Business account for the first time
To access your account, go to My Business Account, select option 2 - Using a CRA user and password "CRA login," and enter your CRA user ID and password. When prompted, enter your CRA security code.
We do not recommend using "Option 1 - Using one of our Sign-in Partners."
CRA My Account for Individuals
To set up your personal CRA account, complete these steps.
Step 1 - Go to the CRA website
To register for an account, go to CRA My Account, scroll down to "Option 2 - Using a CRA user ID and password" and click the link "CRA Register".
Step 2 - Start the registration application
Have a copy of your personal tax returns handy. They will ask for information from these returns, such as entering the amount on Line 15000. The line amount requested will vary. It could be from the current tax year or the previous one.
Step 3 - Wait for a CRA security code to be mailed to you
This typically takes 10 business days; please make sure they have your current address on file.
Step 4 - Sign into your CRA My Account for the first time
To access your account, go to CRA My Account, select option 2 - Using a CRA user and password "CRA login," and enter your CRA user ID and password. When prompted, enter your CRA security code.
